A scarecrow spits
Sunflower seeds
In hopes of meeting
New friends,
But they do not show—
Not for the scarecrow,
Not for the seeds,
And his tears cannot
Be wiped away—
The ropes are much
Too tight
And the crows desire
Hardier cords.
