I'll Be a Candle

There's a star resting

On the lofty mountain;

Perched as a lone candle

Would be on a sprinkled

Birthday cake.

The mountain layered,

Like chocolate dusted

With powdered sugar

And the star glows

In the evening misty sky.

I wish to climb where

It is—to see it up close.

Maybe someday

I'll be a candle too.
