I Can Still See

I thought I'd be blind by now

And maybe

I'm blind in other ways—

I hope it isn't true.

Vision worse than years before,

And I hope my aging mind stays

open to progression;

No excuses to stay

In watered-down bliss.

I thought I'd be blind by now

But I can still see;

In more ways than

Just through declining sight

Behind frames.
