We Wouldn't Even Know

Today I watched the sunrise

And imagined the rays burning me up,

Sending me to a new existence.

One where everything was warm,

With the heat empowering the souls

That wandered freely there.

A comforting warmth that rid

That world of pain.

And transitioning from reality

To this existence was effortless.

But if we touched the sun,

It would melt us away.

And we wouldn’t even know.
